Ansbach/Dieburg, April 3, 2023 --- OECHSLER AG ("OECHSLER"), a leading plastics technology group with a global presence and headquarters in Ansbach/Middle Franconia, and sauer product GmbH ("sauer"), a system supplier and development partner for the series production of plastic components from Dieburg, have concluded an agreement on the joint development and marketing of their products in the field of actuators and electronics. Through this new partnership, the two companies aim to jointly leverage the growth potential in the global automotive market in the future.

Due to their complementary market position, the two system suppliers complement each other optimally: OECHSLER contributes to the partnership, particularly its international production network with seven locations in Europe, Asia, and North America, and extensive development and electronics expertise. The Franconian technology company has been developing actuators for customers in the automotive industry for 25 years and offers them a broad product portfolio that includes actuators for locking tailgates, positioning exterior mirrors, and electronic parking brakes. OECHSLER is the world leader in the market for electronic parking brakes, with a total of over 180 million units manufactured.

With three German sites, sauer's particular strength lies in its excellent access to local OEMs. With its focus on multi-component injection molding and lightweight construction technologies in conjunction with assembly processes, sauer is one of the fastest-growing system suppliers in the automotive industry.

Excellent growth potential in the global market for actuators

The cooperation partners see further growth potential in the future, above all in the joint further development of systems and the transfer from small series to large series production. An example of this is the tailgate module for electric cars developed by sauer and equipped with an OECHSLER actuator, which can be opened and closed automatically and is perfectly integrated into the vehicles‘ design. The cooperation partners also see development potential in other kinematic assemblies developed by sauer for active air control, which is becoming increasingly important in electric vehicles in particular.

The modular solution enables the efficient development of actuators.

As part of the ongoing electrification of the automobile, actuators are gaining importance overall. The growing number of possible applications covers a wide range of functions, from aerodynamic adjustment systems, such as radiator grilles, to electric door handle drives and thermal management systems. Together, OECHSLER and sauer will, in future, offer OEMs a standardized modular solution for actuators for this purpose. The OSKAR actuator construction kit developed by OECHSLER enables a wide variety of superstructures, from the motor to the factory.
