Every year, the Scientific Working Group of the University Professors of Plastics Technology (WAK) honors the best scientific work in plastics technology in order to document important advances in the science and technology of plastics. The prizes are provided by four companies in the plastics industry, among them OECHSLER. OECHSLER donates the OECHSLER Prize for the topic "Methods and Approaches for the Development and Design of Plastic Components". The following works were awarded this year:
Master thesis by Mr. M. Sc. Korbinian Richter
"Deformation simulation of plastic-metal hybrids in during production and application" – supervised by Professor Dr.-Ing. Dietmar Drummer, Chair of Polymer Technology (LKT), University of Erlangen-Nuremberg
Doctoral thesis of Mr. Dr.-Ing. Jan Klein
"Mechanical material characterization of engineering thermoplastics at very high stress rates" – supervised by Professor Dr.-Ing. Christian Hopmann, Institute for Plastics Processing, Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen
We congratulate both winners!
