Polymer-Metal-Composites
Integration of mechatronical and decorative functions
Different metals e.g. aluminium, steels, but copper alloys as well, can be injected from behind or encapsulated fully or semiautomatically inside the injection mold by using smart insert techniques.
As a part of the composite the metal can assume the different functions, as:
- electrical functions as conductor / plug contact (Scrap web technique)
- thermal functions for heat conduction or spreading
- mechanical functions (Insert-/Outsert- / Hybrid-Technique)
- optimal functions, e.g. by injection from behind of metallized films
The functionality of the composite is decisively determined by the plastic material, the surface condition and the geometry of the metal insert.
A functionalisation through metals can be realised through encap-sulating and injection from behind as well as through coating (e.g. MID) or filler modified polymers.
We support you in selecting the appropriate material combination for your application and provide a secure process chain. Composites are our strong point - please test us!
