The Beginning
In 1864, Matthias Oechsler established a small workshop for the production of buttons made of bones. At that time, he employed just one assistant.
After a successful launch, the business grew steadily. 20 years later, his son Otto Oechsler joined the company.
“Matthias Oechsler & Son” ex-panded into Austria and Hunga-ry. At the 1897 World Trade Fair in Brussels, OECHSLER’s pro-duct range was honored with a gold medal.
The company continued to grow. New production facilities such as Weissenburg, were established and equipped with latest machinery. In early 1900, OECHSLER had expanded to over 1,000 people. Trade relations were established with the neighboring European countries and the USA.
